Microsoft is Ending support for Internet Explorer 8, 9 & 10

Internet Explorer has long been the bane of front-end developers everywhere. Without automatic updates like those provided by Chrome and Firefox browsers, we’ve been left to support browsers that were, in some cases, upwards of five years old. Five years is a very long time to go without the latest web technologies.

Microsoft has just announced that it will be ending support for Internet Explorer versions below 11. The most important impact of this is that they will no longer release security updates for these versions. Kind of a big deal.

If you have Windows set to automatically update, you should be getting the new browser updates already. However if you have a PC running Windows XP or older, you will need to upgrade to a newer version of Windows to get the newest version of Internet Explorer.
