What do race horses, German food, South America, Cool Hand Luke and Forest Heights have in common? Not much, until Cartago opened their doors during the Folk Fest weekend of 2017. A fresh approach to your local pub, Cartago's extensive beer list and German pub food will warm the bellies of Edmontonians for years to come.
The idea of Cartago was brought to our attention, quite suitably, over beers. Naturally, the core of what the team set out to do was build a neighbourhood pub where people gathered over drinks and shared good company. We Connected the team at Cartago with award winning Tomnuk Design to realize the brand through the interior design and fit out, featuring lighting by Tomnuk himself, as well as a new line of stools from local design icon Geof Lilge through Div 12. Local product designers Hunt Amor took inspiration from the classic Cool Hand Luke and produced custom bottle openers for the team. Props to Cooper & O'hara for the photography.
